Braided Brake Lines (steel or titanium) |
|
Hi guys, I'm thinking of upgrading my brake lines, definitely the front ones, and maybe the back as well (depending on cost). There are a lot of different brands out there: some local, and some from overseas. What are your favourite/preferred brands? Is titanium worth the extra spend (apart from bragging rights )
Opinions please!

braided steel front and rear. I personally am not at a level of riding to justify the cost of titanium lines.
I actually don't know 1 person that has them.

I put HEL braded lines on my old SV1000. They were good. I'd be inclined to say that the known brands would be pretty much of a muchness.
I don't know if it makes a difference, but I opted for the two lines direct from the brake resevoir instead of the 'over mudguard' option.

Hey Kite,
Unless you're doing it for looks all you need is two braided front lines. Titanium is total overkill so I wouldn't worry to much about them. As for brands they are all pretty much as good as each other, I run braided steel Goodridge lines on the front of the race bike and standard on the rear, as I don't use the rear on the track anyway and even if I was too I wouldn't need it to work any better than it already does. But they are all much the same.
If you like I can get you a set of Hel lines for $190. I am supposed to have them listed on the store http://roostindustries.com/store_index.php but I haven't got around to it yet. Personally I like the clear as you can see the braid through the plastic coating, but black would probably look good on your bike.
PM me if you're keen.
